I think what makes this photo so powerful is because of the way everyone is in a circle united.There are trees but only their reflection in the water as well as the shapes of the people.
The lighting is dark in the center and lighter on the corners. This photo would fall under framing and viewpoint because The feet are framing around the photo and its an overview.
