Photo Manipulation and ethics

Photo Shop has brought great creative images to the world but has also backed fired. With the images being edited there are images made to look as something else. This occurred in the middle east when women were taken out of pictures and replaced with male. Other images were failed launching of rockets, and edited blurs.

This type of photo editing is unethical because they are pretty much ling to the world.

Showing them fake photos of something that didn't happen.
This photo isn't as bad because it was edited to fit a cover of a magazine not to show how close the mountains are together.

This edited photo was lying to the public they could of got a photo the had a diverse crowd but didn't.

Negatives evaluation

1. From looking at your negatives, how many of your photos do you think turned out well?
not many because of not enough or too much exposer to light.

2. How many of your photos appear like they will not turn out well? Why do you think these photos did not turn out (Ex: Over/under exposed, not focused, bad composition)?
The photos that did not turn out well were either to exposed to light or didnt get enough light.

3. Select the negative image that you think will turn out the best when it is printed. Why do you think this photo will turn out well?
The best neagative i think will be the one of the team leader ship teacher beacuse There is a right mix of dark and light spots on the film paper.

4. What technical aspects of photography (focus, exposure, composition) do you think are present in your best negative? What evidence can you provide from the appearance of the negative to support your answer?
Focus is present in my photo because there i not any smoges and also exposure beacuse you are able to identify what is around.

5. What advanced composition techniques (Ex: rule of thirds, leading lines) that you have learned in class are present in your favorite negative?
Rule of Thirds . Ms. Garcia is in the tic tac toe lines also balance between the white board and herself.

American Solider Slideshow and Captions

I think the most powerful image from the slide show is when Ian returns back from
the war and is greeted by his friend Cody after arriving at his sister's friends house
from dinner and a movie. Its shows that his friends actually missed him and were
glad to see him back.

The most powerful sequence for me has to be the signing up one.
It shows him and his family getting ready for him to leave and
possible not come back.

The images show him preparing step by step to leave
saying "goodbye for now" and also all the paper work
that come with enrolling. He gets information and
finishes his high school career and enters his adult life.

When Ian is the main subject in the photo the verds on the caption are usually written in pass tense.

The captions give the photo a story or background information. It tells you what you
see in the photo but also what has and may happen

Ian and his pal Bob are celebrating his last couple of day before leaving to Iraq with a couple of beers. Surrounded by friends at his sisters house they enjoy each others company. Ian is bittersweet about leaving he knows he will be missed and miss a lot of them to but his heart is in the right place.

After a long day of drilling and training for Iraq Ian's troops members and him return back to base and prepare for shut eye.

Ian hangs his t-shirt made by Kristen his girlfriend by a mirror were he looks at it every day and night. It reminds him that he has to go back home and for what people he is fighting for.

The features in the video make it seem more like a time line and a story of Ian's life. The text shows where and what is going on by giving each sequence a title. He's friends and family give their opinion and their look on Ian going to the army.

The video shows interviews from people in the photographs and his family.

The photos are able to capture a moment in time unlike photos that are continues.

Marlboro Marine audio slideshow

1. Luis Sinco used skills like audio-music and speake, Text- to tell were he's at and time, and graphic effects.

2.The effects made it stronger and gave it a deeper feeling.

3a.) To me the most powerful image was when he was on his couch on the american flag upset.
b.) The sequence that is most powerful to me is when he has been in the program for 6 weeks.
c.) The adiou give the story more feeling and a tone of the story.
d.) The photos tell a story by doing it in a timeline.

Post shoot reflection

1. While i was trying to get close to people they would face away. I choose to followe then or completely move to another subject. Real moments were hard because things move so fast its hard to get right light everywhere. Emotion was hard when everyone seemed to change when getting close.

2. I found myself worring about the soroundings more then the light. Like when i wanted to get danniel walking passes the rail i didnt watch lighting.

3. I tried using rule of thirds by taking a picture with a big pink ribbon in the center. And also using the rail for lines.

4. I would like the pay alot more attention to the light meter.
